Welcome to the Manderschied winery !

Viticulture – the science, production and study of grapes which deals with the series of events that occur in the vineyard – has long been a tradition in the Manderschied family. Through dedication to this science over decades of hard work, grandfather Wilhelm and father Wilfried established the winery.

In 2002 the third generation of Manderschieds, son Martin, responded to the call of the grape and left his job in industry to concentrate solely on producing high quality wines in the family business. After graduation from the School of Viticulture and the Business School at Neustadt/Pfalz, Martin took an apprenticeship in a renowned local winery. After the apprenticeship, Martin took over responsibility for the Manderschied winery and has applied new ideas to the business. This dedication and application of knowledge has resulted in the Manderschied wines winning many awards and being listed in several prestigious wine guides (Eichelmann, Jancis Robinson, Wein-Plus.de).

Today the Weingut Manderschied cultivates 40 acres of vineyards. 65% in the production is white wines, the rest is red and rosé.

In September 2008 Martin Manderschied started to change the cultivation methods to biological viticulture, providing a more environmentally acceptable and chemical free product.
